Guidelines
- Ensure all content has a clear structure and purpose. The content should serve a specific goal and have a strong foundation from the first two or three chapters.
Purposeful content is content that serves a specific purpose or goal. Ensure that your content is valuable and relatable by teaching your ideal client something or relating to them. It's clear that unique leaders are talking about “big ideas”, but make it ours by adding in your own step-by-step processes/designs/voice/ideas to make it simple for clients to understand in their language.
It can be educational, informative, entertaining, or a combination of all three. The key is to create content that provides value to the client's audience. If you want to take your client's Instagram profile to the next level, creating purposeful content is essential. Purposeful content is the key to triggering optimal social signals, which can boost trust score, Explorer pages, hashtags pages, and recommendation system. - Establish a consistent style and visual identity: Develop a unique style for your posts, whether it's through your branding or the type of content you post. This will make your profile more recognizable and memorable.

Content Creation
The Design Process
To create compelling and visually appealing CTA's for your brand, we're now embarking on a process that involves selecting and customizing the ideal template to capture your audience's attention effectively.
Find and choose the appropriate template on Canva to enhance Click-Through Rates (CTRs) for your client's social media posts.
Customize the chosen template to reflect the client's brand identity. Once a suitable template is selected, it’s essential to personalize it by modifying elements such as colors, fonts, and incorporating brand-specific images.
Could you provide us with brand guidelines, specific color schemes, and any images you'd like us to incorporate into the CTA template? This will help us tailor the content precisely to your brand's identity.
Position the client's picture strategically within the template to maximize viewer engagement. The positioning of the client's image within the template plays a vital role in drawing attention to the CTA and encouraging user interaction. Using tools like Photoshop or Canva, the image should be uploaded and adjusted for optimal placement. Consideration should be given to the image's size, resolution, and overall harmony with the template design to ensure it complements rather than distracts from the CTA message. The goal is to create a visually cohesive and compelling CTA that captures and retains audience attention.
Test the finalized CTA across different devices and social media platforms to ensure visual consistency and effectiveness. After customization and positioning, it’s crucial to evaluate the CTA's performance across various platforms and devices. This involves saving the edited template and previewing it on different screen sizes and social media environments to ensure the design remains attractive and functional.
Once the CTA is finalized, we plan to monitor its performance closely.
Captions
Captions matter because they provide additional value to your audience and can be used to create a community around your brand.
Captions are an essential part of social media posts, and how you craft them can significantly impact the engagement and success of your content.
Engagement is essential in social media, and captions play a critical role in boosting engagement. A good caption can provoke emotions, initiate conversations, and generate interest, leading to more followers and sales.
*CAPTIONS
One popular formula for creating highly engaging captions involves four key components: a strong hook, proper formatting, the “Yesman” principle, and an extended call to action (eCTA).
Strong Hook
The first sentence of a caption is crucial in grabbing and keeping the reader's attention. Use a hook, such as a bold statement, surprising statistic, or thought-provoking question, to immediately pique the reader's curiosity and make them want to learn more.
Example 1:
“Are you tired of bland, flavorless veggie burgers that taste like cardboard? Well, get ready for the ultimate vegan burger that even meat-lovers will devour.”
Example 2:
“Are you ready to transform your body in just 30 days? The secret formula to achieving your dream body is right here.”
The AIDA Formula
This formula is a widely used marketing principle that can be applied to creating Instagram captions.
Attention
The first step in the AIDA formula is to grab your audience's attention with a hook. Use eye-catching visuals, interesting facts, or a thought-provoking question to get your audience to stop scrolling and pay attention.
Interest
Once you have their attention, the next step is to generate interest. Use the opening lines of your caption to build upon the hook and make your audience want to learn more.
Desire
The third step is to create a sense of desire for your audience. Highlight the benefits of your product or service and make them feel they need what you're offering.
Action
Finally, ending your caption with a strong call to action that encourages your audience to take action is important. This could be as simple as asking them to leave a comment or tag a friend or a more complex call-to-action like asking them to visit your website or sign up for your newsletter.

Proper Formatting
Proper formatting is essential to making your captions easily read and visually appealing. Use line breaks, emojis, and hashtags to break up the text and make it more digestible for your followers.
The “Yesman” Principle
The “Yesman” principle involves speaking directly to your audience's needs and wants. Understand their pain points and offer solutions that create a connection with your followers and encourage them to engage with your content. Use questions, relatable anecdotes, or common struggles to apply this principle effectively.
Extended Call to Action (eCTA)
The final part of the IGPF Caption Formula is the extended call to action (eCTA).
Encourage your followers to take action by asking them to like, comment, or share your post.
As a PS (post-script), you can also include a link to your website, email list, or a related article in your bio to give your audience additional information or resources. Just ensure the link is easy to find and relevant to your caption.
Here are some tips on how to create a clear call to action:
- Your call to action should be clear and specific. Use action verbs and be direct about what you want your followers to do.
For example, instead of saying, “Check out my bio,” say, “Click the link in my bio to learn more.” - Give your followers a reason to take action. Whether it's a discount code, exclusive content, or a chance to win a prize, make sure that there's a benefit to following through on your call to action.
- Don't overwhelm your followers with too many options. Stick to one clear call to action per post and make it easy to follow.
- Encourage your followers to act quickly by creating a sense of urgency. For example, you could use phrases like “Limited time offer” or “Only available for the next 24 hours.”
- Don't be afraid to try different calls to action and see what works best for your audience. Use data and metrics to track your results and adjust your strategy accordingly.
Other Elements
Ask Questions
Asking questions is an effective way to challenge your assumptions and generate new ideas. Consider what your audience might want to know or what questions they might have. Use these questions to inspire your captions and provide value to your followers.
Challenge Assumptions
Sometimes, the most significant barrier to creativity is our assumptions. We assume things are a certain way, limiting our ability to think outside the box. To challenge your assumptions, try reversing them.
What if the opposite were true? How would that change your approach to crafting captions?
Invoke Curiosity
Use captivating images, video thumbnails, and cliffhangers in captions. Ensure the desired information is provided without deception.
E.g., use intriguing captions like “Unlock the Secret to Unlimited Wealth” or “I thought I was doing everything right, but then I discovered the one thing that was holding me back.”
Use Stats
To boost engagement, use accurate and relevant stats in captions, listicles, or carousels and within the body of your caption to add credibility, create curiosity, and engage your audience.
Example 1
“10 Surprising Stats About the Benefits of Meditation” or “Swipe to Learn 5 Shocking Stats About Climate Change.”
Example 2
“Did you know that 75% of people experience anxiety at work? It’s time to take control of your mental health and try these tips.”
Emojis
Use emojis strategically to highlight your message, break up your text and create emotional engagement with your audience.
Include Stories and Quotes
Captions that include personal stories or quotes are a great way to connect with your audience and increase engagement.
For example, provide context and explain why it’s important instead of just sharing a quote.
You could say something like, “I came across this quote and it really resonated with me. As a blogger, I’ve learned that success comes from consistency and persistence. ‘Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.’ – Winston Churchill ”
“This is a story I’ve never talked about before. Last New Year’s Eve, I was arrested by Polish cops. Can’t believe it’s been a year already! We all have moments like this that can be shared with others. Don’t just put a quote in your caption without any context – make sure it has something to do with what you’re trying to convey.”
USE ANTI-STATEMENTS
Anti-statements are phrases that contradict your audience’s expectations. They make your audience stop and think, creating an opening for your message. For example, if you’re promoting a weight loss product, you could use an anti-statement like “Eat more, lose weight!”
*Hashtags
Hashtags are the most important growth method on Instagram. By using them correctly, you can increase your impression rate and reach by 50%.
Use hashtags as a traffic method to increase your followers and data. Even if the absolute numbers are small, the targeted people who see your posts can lead to a high conversion rate. Optimizing content and profile is key to making hashtags work.
Use tracking metrics to make informed decisions about which hashtags to use. Don't rely on guesswork for your social media strategy.
Use tracking software like Hashtastic to:
- Filter the Best Hashtags: Choose the most effective and relevant hashtags for your campaign.
- Analyze Valuable Data: Select hashtags likely to benefit your campaign based on critical information.
- Identify Underperforming Hashtags: Focus on hashtags that work and eliminate those that don't.
Analyze Competition
Stay ahead of the competition by analyzing their hashtag strategy. With Hashtastic's account scanner feature, discover valuable insights into effective hashtags for your content and increase your reach.
Here's a quick guide to using the account scanner in Hashtastic:
- Select the account scanner feature.
- Enter the Instagram username of your competitor.
- Review the list of hashtags and select relevant ones.
Experiment with Hashtags
Use around 30 hashtags and adjust the number for each post to avoid triggering penalty algorithms. Ensure at least 89% of your hashtags are different for each post but don't be afraid to reuse the ones that work well for you.
Boost Your Hashtag Ranking by Analyzing Top Nine Posts
Analyze the most successful posts on your chosen hashtags to rank higher on social media. Gain insights into the content your audience engages with the most and tailor your posts to suit their preferences.
Steps to analyze the top nine posts:
- Search for your selected hashtag.
- Observe the top-performing posts.
- Note common themes, image style, and captions.
- Adjust your content strategy to create more engaging content.
Here are some additional tips:
- Avoid overusing hashtags. Using the same hashtags repeatedly can lead to penalization. Switch up your hashtags to find high-performing ones and relate them to the specific post.
- Avoid using flagged hashtags. Hashtags can be banned on Instagram for going against community guidelines or containing profanity. Use hashtag tools to check if your hashtags are flagged.
- Create a branded hashtag for yourself and use it in all your posts to grow your reach and rank on bigger hashtags. Monitor metrics to predict if you can rank on bigger hashtags.
- Use the hashtag ladder method to increase your reach. Start by adding a few easy-to-rank hashtags, then move on to medium-to-rank hashtags, and finally, some bigger, harder-to-rank hashtags.
- Conduct competitor research to find related hashtags and replicate what successful competitors do. Use the same hashtags, post similar content, and get a feel for the niche.
Types
Posts / Carousels
Our next steps involve enhancing your visual content strategy by integrating carousels, a dynamic element that can significantly increase audience engagement on your platform.
Guide the client on organizing elements within a carousel post to optimize engagement.
The proper arrangement of elements, with text placed strategically behind other components, ensures that visual effects like drop shadows enhance the content's appeal without obscuring critical information.
Advise on applying the drop shadow effect to text elements within the client's carousel posts.
Utilizing the Layer Styles menu to add a drop shadow to text generates depth, making the overlay text pop against varied backgrounds. Adjust the drop shadow settings, such as spread and size to significantly impact the visual dynamism of the post, making the content stand out on crowded social media feeds.
Adjust to the text size within carousel posts to improve visibility and impact.
Experiment with different font sizes to achieve a harmonious balance between text and imagery ensures that the message is not only seen but also resonates with viewers.
Monitor and correct any clipping layers in carousel designs.
Adjust the layer order or employ layer masks as a reliable solution for maintaining the integrity of the drop shadow effect, ensuring that the final product is polished and professional.
Our next steps involve refining our social media strategy with a focus on carousel posts to enhance audience engagement on platforms like Instagram.
Create a hybrid picture for the carousel's first slide.
Select an evocative image that embodies the core message and add a succinct text overlay as an immediate attention grabber.
Emphasize simplicity in carousel design. By avoiding the overuse of text and visuals that could potentially clutter the carousel, we ensure the content is direct, to the point, and easy for the audience to digest.
Incorporate a compelling reminder in the carousel.
Utilize elements like bold font, contrasting colors, and persuasive language to heighten the sense of urgency and motivates viewers to engage with the content. Tailor these reminders to the brand's voice and message, and experiment with different phrasing to ascertain the most effective approach.
Experiment with combining 3D and 2D elements in visuals.
This technique, aimed at creating depth and capturing attention through innovative design, can set visuals apart in a crowded social media landscape.
In preparation for enhancing our Instagram carousel posts, could you provide any specific branding guidelines or visuals you'd like us to incorporate? This would help us tailor our content more closely to your brand's aesthetic.
Consider the strategic use of bold text within carousel content.
Implement a captivating hook in the initial carousel slide.
Given Instagram's algorithm which resurfaces the second image of a carousel in user feeds, the importance of the first slide capturing immediate interest cannot be overstated. By ensuring the initial image and caption are engaging and tied closely to the user's interests, the likelihood of viewers engaging with the entire carousel increases significantly. For our upcoming carousel posts, could you share insights or data on messages or themes that have historically performed well with your audience? This information will be invaluable in crafting our hooks and overall content strategy.
Stories
The importance of utilizing Stories lies in their ability to be the first point of engagement with the audience before they explore the feed, making them a crucial tool for connection and monetization.
We're gearing up to enhance the visibility and engagement of your Instagram Stories. This will involve a multi-faceted approach to ensure your content not only captivates but also significantly boosts your interaction rates.
Create captivating content tailored to the Instagram algorithm.
Implement consistent posting at peak activity times. This strategy involves a diligent schedule of posting when your followers are most likely to see and interact with your content, thereby maximizing reach and engagement.
Strategize to encourage follower interaction.
Given that Instagram's algorithm favors stories from accounts with which a user frequently interacts, it's essential to actively encourage your audience to engage with your stories. Simple calls to action, such as encouraging followers to vote in a poll, answer a question, swipe up for more content, or tag a friend, can significantly increase the visibility of your stories to an engaged audience.
Focus on building strong relationships with followers.
Engagement on Instagram isn't just about attracting views; it's also about nurturing relationships with your audience. Promptly responding to comments and direct messages is a crucial practice.
Story Arcs for Enhanced Engagement
Utilize the “triple C” formula for creating engaging story arcs. To maximize views and reach on Instagram, it's beneficial to craft your stories around the catch, content, and conclusion/call-to-action structure. This involves starting with a compelling hook to grab attention, providing content that offers value in the form of insights, entertainment, or education, and wrapping up with a strong call to action or conclusion that prompts viewer engagement or action.
Break up your content into multiple engaging parts. Keeping your audience's attention through the entirety of your story can be enhanced by segmenting your content. Utilize narrative techniques like cliffhangers or teasers at the end of each segment to effectively maintain viewer interest over several stories.
Enhancing Visuals for Greater Impact
Incorporate multimedia elements to elevate story engagement. Enhance your stories with music, sound effects, text overlays, or visually engaging formats like Boomerangs, stop-motion, or GIFs to dramatically increase the appeal and engagement of your content.
Actively engage with your audience to foster a supportive community. Building a lasting relationship with your followers goes beyond merely responding to their interactions. Tag followers in posts and stories, actively engage with their content, and show appreciation for their support to encourage a sense of community and belonging.

As part of enhancing your brand's online presence, we're initiating a focused strategy on optimizing your Instagram Stories for better engagement and revenue generation.
Conduct a comprehensive review of the current use of Instagram Stories within the client's profile, focusing on engagement metrics and content themes.
Develop a strategic plan to enhance the visibility and engagement of the client's Instagram Stories. Given the platform's emphasis on Stories within its algorithm, this plan involves crafting quick, engaging content that offers a glimpse behind the scenes. This content should reveal more about who the client is and what they do, such as showing workflow scenes, moments of levity, or performing tasks related to their brand.
Incorporate interactive features into the client's Instagram Stories to boost follower interaction. The use of the swipe-up links feature is particularly strategic for driving traffic to external content, including podcasts, digital products, or purchasing options.
Utilize polls, questions, and music to add an interactive layer to the Stories and make them more engaging for viewers.
To make the most out of your Instagram Stories, could you provide specific examples or themes of content you've noticed engaging your audience the most? This will help us tailor our strategy to include more of what your followers enjoy.

Livestreams
Our upcoming strategy involves enhancing engagement with your audience through interactive live sessions. We aim to optimize your live streaming approach to boost visibility and foster closer relationships with your followers.
Plan a weekly or monthly live session tailored to the audience's interests and needs. Establish a regular schedule for live sessions encourages audience participation and anticipation. These sessions could range from community hangouts, Q&A streams, live coaching, to behind-the-scenes insights. The goal is to create value-driven content that reflects the audience's preferences and fosters a deeper connection with them.
Before hosting the live session, conduct a preliminary Q&A to gather audience queries and topics of interest. This proactive approach ensures the content is highly relevant and engaging to the audience, prompting higher participation and interaction during the live session itself.
Schedule live streams consistently, for instance, every Sunday at 6 PM, and utilize countdown stickers for promotion.
Customize content creation by keeping the specific interests and needs of your audience in focus. Tailoring live sessions, like community painting for artists, ensures content relevancy and boosts engagement. It’s vital to clearly communicate the essence of each live stream through compelling titles and descriptions across platforms like IGTV and stories.
For the upcoming live sessions, could you share any specific topics or questions your audience has expressed interest in? This information will enable us to tailor the content more effectively to their preferences.
Utilize scheduled and hyped-up live streams to showcase presentations through slides or pictures directly from your phone. This not only enriches the content but also leverages IG features for a more engaging presentation, contributing positively to your algorithm ratings.
Monetize and increase interaction through live streams by incorporating Q&As, selling stickers, or auctioning creations.
Adopt strategies to increase your algorithm rating by going live frequently and interacting genuinely with your audience. Metrics like active follower count, although skewed due to privacy settings, can offer insights. Enable your client's activity status under privacy settings for a more accurate engagement analysis.
Vary your live stream content by experimenting with different formats, topics, and actively involving the audience. Tease any upcoming topics to encourage early interest and participation, enriching the live experience. Collaborations with niche competitors and occasional rule-breaking can unveil new growth avenues and innovative content strategies.
Considering collaborations, are there any competitors or influencers within your niche that you're interested in partnering with for live sessions?

### Step 4: Start Following and Posting
1. **Follow Users**: Begin by following 10 to 15 people per day. Choose accounts that align with the interests or theme of your dummy account to maintain consistency.
2. **Posting**: Create 5 to 10 posts relevant to the theme of your account. These can be spread out over a few days to avoid spam-like behavior.
3. **Engagement**: Like and comment on posts in a manner consistent with your account's persona to increase engagement and legitimacy.
### Additional Tips
– **Content Variety**: Use a mix of original photos, stories, and possibly reposts (with credit) to diversify the content.
– **Interact Authentically**: Genuine interactions with other users can help in establishing the account as legitimate.

Instagram Management Using Airtable
Upon accessing our Airtable for Instagram management, you will primarily interact with two tabs: Follow and Unfollow. These tabs are essential for tracking our engagement strategy with other Instagram accounts.
Follow Accounts in the ‘Follow' View
Here, you'll find a curated list of Instagram accounts that we have identified as potential follows. This view helps us strategically grow our network and reach on the platform.
Unfollow Accounts in in The ‘Unfollow View'
This section lists accounts that we plan to unfollow. It's crucial for maintaining a clean and relevant feed, ensuring we engage only with content that aligns with our objectives.
Track New Followers
Before proceeding to unfollow any accounts, it's important to assess our recent interactions, specifically focusing on accounts that have followed us.
Here's how:
- Review Recent Followers: Navigate to the section where recent followers are listed. Given the dynamic nature of Instagram interactions, we periodically review this list—typically looking back over the last 30 days—to identify new followers.
- Access the ‘Not Following Back' View: Within this view, you'll find accounts that haven't reciprocated our follow. This is where our recent followers' check comes into play.
- Update Follower Status:
- If an account has followed us back, locate their username in the ‘Not Following Back' view.
- Next to their username, you'll find a column designated for follower status. If they're now following us, mark them as a ‘Follower.' This action ensures they are removed from the ‘Not Following Back' view and helps maintain accurate records of our interactions.
When managing follows and unfollows, concentrate on accounts marked as either ‘Requested' or ‘Following.' Accounts that followed us without a preceding follow from our side do not require action.
Building a Community
Interacting With New Followers
Personalize messages for each new follower.
For every new follower, craft a DM that addresses them by name and includes a reference to something specific from their profile.
Personalization is key in standing out in a follower's inbox. It transforms a generic outreach into a significant touchpoint, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Monitor and analyze engagement metrics.
Track the effectiveness of DM campaigns by measuring engagement rates, follower growth, and the volume of messages sent.
Understanding these metrics allows us to iterate and enhance our DM strategies, ensuring we continuously optimize our efforts for better results and higher engagement rates.
*“Please provide a list of key messages or promotions you'd like us to highlight in our direct messages to followers. These can include upcoming events, new product launches, or any specific campaigns you're focusing on. Tailoring our DMs with these focal points can significantly enhance follower engagement and interest.”
*“To better personalize our messages and connect with your audience, could you share details about the language and tone that best represent your brand? Incorporating your brand’s voice into our DMs will make our outreach more authentic and impactful.”
