This guide explains how to prepare your Meta accounts and connect Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp to AchieveAI.

Before you begin

You need:

  • An AchieveAI Pro plan or higher.
  • A personal Facebook login that has access to the business assets you want to connect.
  • A Facebook Page for the business, not only a personal Facebook profile or Facebook Group.
  • Facebook access with full control of the Page and its linked accounts.
  • An Instagram Professional account – Business or Creator – if you want to connect Instagram.
  • A WhatsApp Business account and business phone number if you want to connect WhatsApp.

For the most reliable setup, place the Facebook Page, Instagram professional account, and WhatsApp Business account in the same Meta Business Portfolio. Use the same Facebook login when connecting all three services.

Security: AchieveAI does not need your Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp password. Enter passwords and verification codes only on Meta-hosted screens. Never send a password, one-time code, access token, or recovery code to AchieveAI support.

Quick readiness checklist

Complete this checklist before opening AchieveAI:

  • [ ] I have a Facebook Page for the business.
  • [ ] My Facebook login has full control of that Page.
  • [ ] My Instagram account is Professional – Business or Creator – not Personal.
  • [ ] My Instagram professional account is linked to the correct Facebook Page.
  • [ ] The Facebook Page and Instagram account are in the same Meta Business Portfolio.
  • [ ] My Facebook login has access to both the Page and the Instagram account.
  • [ ] My WhatsApp number belongs to a WhatsApp Business account.
  • [ ] My WhatsApp Business account and phone number appear in the correct Meta Business Portfolio.
  • [ ] I can receive a verification code on the WhatsApp business number if Meta requests one.

Part 1: Prepare your Facebook Page

Create a Page if you do not have one

  1. Sign in to the Facebook account that will manage the business.
  2. Open Create a Facebook Page.
  3. Enter the business name and category.
  4. Select Create Page and finish the Page setup.

A personal profile, professional-mode profile, or Facebook Group cannot replace the Page required by AchieveAI.

Confirm that you have Page access

  1. Sign in to Facebook.
  2. Switch into the business Page.
  3. Open Settings & privacy > Settings.
  4. Open Page setup or Page access. Meta may place this under Permissions.
  5. Confirm that your Facebook account has Facebook access with full control.

If another person or agency owns the Page, ask someone with full control to grant your Facebook login access. Meta explains the available access levels in About Facebook Page access.

Connect Facebook to AchieveAI

  1. Sign in to AchieveAI.
  2. Open Integrations, or go directly to app.achieveai.io/integrations.
  3. Find the Facebook card and select Connect.
  4. On Meta’s authorization screen, sign in with the Facebook account that has full control of the Page.
  5. Select the correct Business Portfolio and Facebook Page.
  6. Grant all permissions requested by AchieveAI. Do not turn off individual Page or messaging permissions.
  7. Finish the Meta flow and return to AchieveAI.
  8. Confirm that the Facebook card says Connected and displays the expected Page.

Part 2: Prepare and connect Instagram

Change a Personal account to a Professional account

AchieveAI requires an Instagram professional account. Meta supports two professional account types:

  • Business, intended for businesses.
  • Creator, intended for creators, public figures, artists, and influencers.

To check the account:

  1. Open the Instagram mobile app.
  2. Go to the profile.
  3. If View professional dashboard appears, the account is already Professional.
  4. If it does not appear, open Menu > Settings and activity.
  5. Find Account type and tools or For professionals.
  6. Select Switch to professional account.
  7. Choose Business or Creator and complete the prompts.

Professional accounts are public and cannot be private. See Meta’s Professional account overview.

Link Instagram to the correct Facebook Page

From the Instagram app:

  1. Open the Instagram profile.
  2. Select Edit profile.
  3. Under Public business information, select Page.
  4. Select Continue, then sign in to Facebook.
  5. Choose the Facebook Page used by the business.
  6. Select Connect.

If the Page is missing from the list, the Facebook login probably does not have sufficient Page access. Meta documents this process in Add or change the Facebook Page connected to your Instagram professional account.

You can also link the account from Facebook:

  1. Sign in to Facebook and switch into the Page.
  2. Open Settings & privacy > Settings.
  3. Under Permissions, open Linked accounts.
  4. Next to Instagram, select View.
  5. Select Connect account and complete the prompts.

Confirm the Meta Business Portfolio

Before connecting AchieveAI:

  1. Open Meta Business Suite or Business Settings.
  2. Select the correct Business Portfolio.
  3. Confirm that the Facebook Page appears under the Portfolio’s Pages.
  4. Confirm that the Instagram professional account appears under its Instagram accounts.
  5. Confirm that your Facebook login has full control of both assets.

The Page and Instagram account should belong to the same business. Avoid authorizing a Page owned by one Business Portfolio and an Instagram account owned by another.

Connect Instagram to AchieveAI

Instagram has its own AchieveAI card and authorization. Connecting Facebook does not automatically connect Instagram.

  1. Return to AchieveAI Integrations.
  2. Find the Instagram card and select Connect.
  3. Sign in with the same Facebook login used for the Page.
  4. Select the Business Portfolio, Facebook Page, and linked Instagram professional account.
  5. Grant all requested permissions, including access to the managed Page and Instagram account.
  6. Finish the Meta flow and return to AchieveAI.
  7. Confirm that the Instagram card says Connected and displays the expected Instagram username.

Part 3: Prepare and connect WhatsApp

Prepare the WhatsApp Business account

You need:

  • A WhatsApp Business account.
  • A business phone number attached to that account.
  • Access to the Meta Business Portfolio that owns or manages the WhatsApp Business account.
  • The ability to receive a verification code on the number if Meta requests verification.

The number may be a WhatsApp Business app number or a WhatsApp Business Platform/API number, subject to the options Meta presents during setup.

Optional: Link WhatsApp to the Facebook Page

Linking WhatsApp to the Page makes the business assets easier to verify and manage:

  1. Sign in to Facebook and switch into the business Page.
  2. Open Settings & privacy > Settings.
  3. Under Permissions, select Linked accounts.
  4. Select WhatsApp.
  5. Choose the country code and enter the WhatsApp Business number.
  6. Select Send WhatsApp code.
  7. Enter the code and finish the connection.

Connect WhatsApp to AchieveAI

WhatsApp also has a separate AchieveAI card and authorization.

  1. Return to AchieveAI Integrations.
  2. Find the WhatsApp card and select Connect.
  3. Sign in with the Facebook login that manages the Business Portfolio.
  4. Select the correct Business Portfolio.
  5. Select the correct WhatsApp Business account.
  6. Select the business phone number AchieveAI should use.
  7. Grant all requested permissions.
  8. Complete any verification or registration prompt shown by Meta.
  9. Return to AchieveAI.
  10. Confirm that the WhatsApp card says Connected and displays the expected business number.

Meta may require business verification, display-name review, or other account checks before unrestricted production messaging is available. Complete any pending items shown in WhatsApp Manager or Meta Business Suite.

Verify the complete setup

Each service must show as connected separately:

  • Facebook: the expected Facebook Page is displayed.
  • Instagram: the expected professional username is displayed.
  • WhatsApp: the expected business phone number is displayed.

Then perform a simple test with an account you control:

  1. Publish or send a low-risk test through each connected channel.
  2. Confirm the action appears on the correct Page, Instagram account, or WhatsApp number.
  3. Send an inbound message to the connected business account.
  4. Confirm the conversation appears in the expected AchieveAI inbox or workflow.

Do not begin automated or high-volume messaging until these tests succeed.

Troubleshooting

“Facebook authorized your profile, but the selected Page was not returned”

This means Meta authenticated the personal Facebook login but did not give AchieveAI a manageable Page.

Check that:

  • You selected a Facebook Page, not a profile or Group.
  • The Page belongs to the selected Business Portfolio.
  • Your Facebook login has full control of the Page.
  • You granted all requested permissions.

After correcting access, disconnect Facebook in AchieveAI and reconnect it.

“Instagram OAuth completed without a linked professional account”

This is not normally an AchieveAI subscription error. It means Meta did not return a usable Instagram professional account.

Check that:

  • The Instagram account is Business or Creator, not Personal.
  • It is linked to the correct Facebook Page.
  • The Page and Instagram account are in the same Meta Business Portfolio.
  • Your Facebook login has full control of both assets.
  • You selected the correct Page and granted every requested permission.

After correcting the setup, disconnect Instagram in AchieveAI and reconnect it.

The Facebook Page does not appear during connection

The most common cause is insufficient Page access. Confirm access under the Page’s settings. If an agency or former employee controls the Page, a current full-control administrator must add your Facebook login.

The Instagram account does not appear

Confirm that the account is Professional and linked to the Page before starting the AchieveAI connection. If it was linked recently, sign out of Meta, wait a few minutes, and reconnect.

The WhatsApp Business account or phone number does not appear

Check that:

  • You selected the correct Business Portfolio.
  • The WhatsApp Business account is owned or shared with that Portfolio.
  • Your Facebook login has permission to manage it.
  • The number is present in WhatsApp Manager.
  • Any required verification, registration, or display-name review is complete.

You connected the wrong Page, Instagram account, or phone number

  1. Open AchieveAI Integrations.
  2. Disconnect the affected service.
  3. Sign out of any incorrect Facebook accounts in the browser.
  4. Reconnect using the Facebook login that controls the intended Business Portfolio.
  5. Carefully select the correct assets and grant all permissions.

Meta says permission was denied or the connection was canceled

Restart the connection and accept all requested permissions. AchieveAI cannot publish, retrieve messages, or identify linked business assets when individual permissions are disabled.

The card stays on “Connecting”

  1. Wait up to two minutes.
  2. Return to the AchieveAI Integrations page and refresh it.
  3. Check whether the Meta authorization opened in another browser tab or mobile browser window.
  4. If the card is still disconnected, restart the connection.

Information to send AchieveAI support

If the setup still fails, send:

  • The affected service: Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp.
  • The exact date, time, and time zone of the attempt.
  • A screenshot of the AchieveAI error message.
  • The Facebook Page name.
  • The Instagram username, if applicable.
  • The WhatsApp business display name and the last four digits of the number, if applicable.
  • Whether your Facebook login has full control of each asset.
  • Whether all assets appear in the same Meta Business Portfolio.

Do not send passwords, verification codes, access tokens, recovery codes, or full payment information.
