Look, the “AI Slop Burnout” isn’t AI’s fault. It’s yours.
92,000 tech jobs cut in 2026 so far. $700B+ in AI spending. Engagement on AI-generated content is cratering. Everyone wants to blame the machines.
But here’s the uncomfortable truth nobody’s saying: AI isn’t flooding the world with garbage. Lazy people are.
Prompt → generate → publish. That’s not automation. That’s negligence with a shortcut key.
A Chinese court just ruled that companies can’t replace employees with AI purely to cut costs. Read the subtext: they tried. And they’ll keep trying. Not because AI is better than humans. Because bad humans are worse than good AI.
The real winners in 2026 aren’t “prompt engineers” — that role was always a transitional joke. The winners are architects. People who design the system, define the strategy, own the voice, and let AI execute inside a framework they built.
The future isn’t human vs. machine. It’s architects vs. prompters.
And the prompters are already losing.
If you’re still just “prompting” AI instead of building with it, you’re already behind.
What’s one thing you’ve stopped doing yourself because AI does it better? Or is there something you still refuse to hand over?
