Welcome to the Camera Confidence Course

Hello, and a warm welcome to those of you looking to enhance your on-camera presence! My name is Drew B. Wilson, and I'm excited to be a part of your journey to becoming more confident on camera. Abby and David have meticulously crafted this course filled with rich content and practical steps to help you shine in the spotlight.

Building On-Camera Confidence

Many of us experience anxiety or self-consciousness when faced with a camera. It's perfectly normal to feel this way, especially when you're just starting. However, confidence can be learned and improved through practice and simple techniques. This course will guide you through various strategies to build your on-camera confidence and help you present the best version of yourself.

A Useful, Easy-to-Start Tip

As a preliminary exercise, I want to share an accessible and highly effective tip that I personally used when I first embarked on this course. This exercise involves creating birthday video shoutouts.

Step-by-Step Guide to Birthday Video Shoutouts

  1. Log in to your Facebook account daily.
  2. Take note of friends celebrating their birthdays (Facebook notifications will usually make this obvious).
  3. Open Facebook Messenger or any video recording app on your phone.
  4. Record a quick birthday greeting video. For example:

"Hey, John! Just wanted to say that I'm grateful to have you in my life. Happy birthday! I hope your day is absolutely fantastic. Remember, if you ever need anything, I'm just a shout away. Enjoy your special day to the fullest. Cheers!

  5. Send the personalized video message to the birthday person.

Why This Exercise Works

  • It provides you with frequent, low-pressure opportunities to practice speaking on camera.
  • It helps in creating a personal connection with someone, which can feel rewarding.
  • It often generates positive responses that can encourage and uplift you.
  • It allows you to get accustomed to and comfortable with being on camera.

Conclusion and Encouragement

This easy exercise is a powerful starting point for those feeling tentative about being on camera. By incorporating this friendly gesture into your daily routine, you're sure to see a significant improvement in how you feel about being filmed. Keep in mind, it's not just about gaining confidence for yourself—it's about spreading joy and staying connected with others.

Remember, every step taken is progress made towards your goal of becoming more assured in front of the camera. Start with these birthday shoutouts and watch as your camera confidence begins to bloom.

Here's to stepping out with confidence and making a positive impact, one message at a time. Have an excellent day ahead!
